About Sabine

Hello, my name is Sabine Farren-Cox and I am a BACP registered therapist and qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I am committed to providing a warm, confidential, and safe environment where we can work together to explore your difficulties. I do not believe in a 'one size fits all' approach; instead, I tailor our sessions to your individual requirements using a range of evidence-based tools.

In our work together, we will primarily use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to examine how your thoughts and feelings may be negatively affecting your behaviour. By identifying these patterns, we can work towards making lasting, positive changes. I also draw upon Gestalt and Humanistic approaches to help you focus on your immediate feelings and develop a healthy, strong sense of self-discovery.

My goal is to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and the issues that are troubling you. Clients often describe me as being warm, perceptive, and easy to talk to. While I will not offer you direct advice, I will take an active role in helping you implement the changes you choose for your life, ensuring you feel encouraged and supported throughout the process.

How I can help

I will provide a safe and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment, fostering deeper self-understanding.

We will collaboratively identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs using evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques.

I will equip you with practical, actionable strategies and coping mechanisms to effectively manage stress, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties.

We will work together to process challenging emotions and develop resilience, particularly in areas such as bereavement or relationship complexities.

I will actively guide you through a structured therapeutic process, enabling you to implement lasting personal changes and achieve your wellbeing goals.

Background and experience

I have many years of experience working across a variety of diverse settings. This includes providing counselling for both staff and students within university environments, as well as working in detention centres where I offered practical guidance and mental health assessments.

Throughout my career, I have supported individuals facing a wide spectrum of challenges. I have extensive experience helping people navigate the complexities of bereavement, including sudden loss or through long-term illness. Additionally, I specialise in supporting those struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, stress, and low self-worth.
