Very helpful
“Michaela has helped my son through his anxiety so much that he has since travelled abroad alone twice and started a new college course where he has made new friends and is doing really well.”
About Michaela
My name is Michaela and I am a warm, approachable, and non-judgemental therapist. I recognise that seeking support can be a significant step, which is why I offer a confidential and safe space to explore the emotional difficulties you are facing. My goal is to create a compassionate environment where we can work together to elicit change, empowering you to move forward more positively and achieve your personal goals.
I trained in both Cognitive Therapy and REBT, designed to help you identify and challenge negative automatic thoughts and irrational beliefs, allowing you to manage your emotions and behaviours in a calmer, more rational way. By gaining insight into your thoughts and feelings, you will begin to recognise why certain situations affect you and how to navigate them more effectively.
In addition to CBT, I am an Integrative Counsellor, meaning I can draw upon several different approaches and tailor our sessions to your unique needs. Whether we are focusing on practical problem-solving or understanding the root of a challenge, my aim is to help you build resilience and develop healthier coping strategies for the long term.
I work more creatively with young people, using methods like play therapy, art, sand-tray, and writing to facilitate self-discovery. By making therapy engaging and supportive, I help younger clients express themselves more effectively and equip them with the tools needed to face life's challenges with confidence.

“I needed help urgently after suffering a mental health relapse. I contacted CTB & Counselling Kent on the Tuesday, and was seen the next day. Michaela was calming and reassuring, and taught me various techniques to help with my OCD. After only 3 sessions, I felt confident enough to use all the techniques when required, and know that in the future, I can contact Michaela if I need further help.”
