About Mark

Hello, I’m Mark, a fully qualified and highly experienced Psychotherapeutic Therapist. I provide a warm, calm, and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and develop the tools needed to make positive, lasting changes. Dealing with life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but through professional therapy, we can begin to understand the reasons behind these feelings and find ways to overcome the obstacles you encounter.

My approach is structured yet flexible, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred, and Psychodynamic methods. I believe in tailoring therapy to your unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. Whether you are dealing with low self-esteem, anger, bereavement, or trauma, I am committed to providing a safe and confidential environment where you can feel comfortable enough to open up.

In our sessions, my goal is to help you make sense of your life and empower you with practical tools to build a positive future. We will work together to explore new perspectives and behaviours that encourage personal growth and resilience, ensuring you feel at ease throughout the process.

I welcome adults of all ages and backgrounds. I also provide guidance on navigating the behaviours of others who influence your life, equipping you with strategies to handle challenging situations and individuals with confidence and optimism.

Background and experience

My interest in psychology began in my teenage years and has grown into a fulfilling career helping others live their best lives. My professional journey has been diverse, including experience in catering, motoring, and commercial interiors as a Training Manager. These varied life experiences, combined with rigorous clinical training, have provided me with a deep understanding of human behaviour and the various stresses of modern life.

Throughout my career, psychometric testing has consistently highlighted my strengths in empathy, analytical thinking, and relationship building. I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), which ensures my practice meets the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct.

I find great reward in seeing my clients make meaningful progress. Many of those I work with express that they wish they had started therapy sooner, and my focus remains on helping individuals minimise conflict and stress to achieve a content, confident, and happy life.

    Coping with life challenges

I knew that I wasn’t coping and a session on the NHS left me even more at odds and confused. I felt the best way forward was to have face to face sessions and I am so glad that I found Mark and that with his help and expertise I could truly focus on what I needed help with. At the outset Mark was friendly, relaxed and he really put me at ease so that I could be open and honest as well. In turn he gave me the skills and insight that I needed to cope with the now but also what was coming further down the line. Especially coming from a negative experience to an amazing one I am a great advocate for anyone who needs to talk do actively seek it out as you will feel the benefit. I can honestly say the sessions with Mark brought me back, reduced the weight that I was carrying and gave me hope. I can’t thank him enough and would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Mark has helped me in many ways. Whether it being developing myself as an individual or just being a good listener, his sessions are great. Mark makes you feel comfortable from the get go and sessions do not feel forced and I always come out of them feeling refreshed and it is just what I was after. I would recommend Mark to anyone who is interested in having counselling or therapy sessions as I have seen many benefits from taking them. He is easy to talk to and sessions relate to you, Mark caters to your needs and wants and conversations flow naturally and are not forced. 10/10

Mark was very kind and patient, and easy to talk too. I terminated because it was difficult not to have my own transport.

    Supportive and hugely helpful

Mark was incredibly calm and kind. It was hugely helpful to talk through issues sensibly and logically, and ultimately Mark set me on the right track to achieve better resilience for which I'm very grateful. I would encourage anyone who is uncertain to take the first step to what could be greater happiness and contentment.
